Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett is a transformative leader who is recognized globally for his wide-ranging expertise and accomplishments in both tourism and politics.

Hands-on leadership, innovative thinking and a passion for effecting positive change have been hallmarks of Mr. Bartlett’s over forty years of successful service to Jamaica. Whether providing strategic guidance to his portfolio Ministry, overseeing the expansion of Jamaica’s tourism industry or representing the interests of his constituency, he always seeks to add value and unearth opportunities.

Mr. Bartlett was first appointed Minister of Tourism in 2007, serving until December 2011. Before this, he already had a solid record of accomplishment as an outstanding legislator in central government in both Chambers of Parliament. He served as Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting & Culture in the Office of the Prime Minister and Minister of Youth, Sports & Community Development from 1980 to 1989; later he served as Senator and Opposition Spokesman on various portfolios, including Tourism, from 1989 to

Ms. Jennifer Griffith, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism since 2006, is a decisive leader, known for her insightful analysis, innovative solutions and unwavering commitment to Jamaica's tourism success.

As the chief administrator, Ms. Griffith wears many hats: policy architect, programme executor and advocate for the industry's sustainable development. She not only provides policy advice to the Minister of Tourism but also offers strategic oversight of the policies and programmes of the Ministry’s divisions and public bodies.

Her journey began in 1997 when she joined the Ministry as a Tourism Planner, later advancing to the role of Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Evaluation. Throughout her tenure, Ms. Griffith has been a driver of change. From fostering responsible tourism practices to spearheading social welfare initiatives, she consistently navigates evolving landscapes and trends to ensure Jamaica remains a premier destination on the international stage.

She has spearheaded the development of impactful policy initiatives, co-coordinated the preparation of the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism

Senator the Hon. Delano Seiveright is an experienced public servant whose dynamic career reflects a steadfast commitment to national development, particularly within the tourism sector. 

As a seasoned strategist and public policy specialist, Senator Seiveright has a wealth of experience in governance, tourism development and international stakeholder engagement. Throughout his career, he has played a crucial role in policy discussions and advocacy, contributing to the development of key legislation and shaping policies that affect investment, tourism, economic growth and cannabis law reform.

Senator Seiveright's appointment as Minister of State followed a period of dedicated service as Senior Communications Strategist in the Ministry of Tourism. In this role, he was a key driver of several strategic initiatives, working closely with the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, and other members of the tourism team to help lay the foundation for record-setting growth in Jamaica's tourism sector. This collaborative effort directly contributed to the expansion of the industry, solidifying its status as a critical
