Mr. Bartlett was first appointed Minister of Tourism in 2007, serving until December 2011. Before this, he already had a solid record of accomplishment as an outstanding legislator in central government in both Chambers of Parliament. Ms. Jennifer Griffith, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism since 2006, is a decisive leader, known for her insightful analysis, innovative solutions and unwavering commitment to Jamaica's tourism success.
As the chief administrator, Ms. Griffith wears many hats: policy architect, programme executor and advocate for the industry's sustainable development. She not only provides policy advice to the Minister of Tourism but also offers strategic oversight of the policies and programmes of the Ministry’s divisions and public bodies.
Her journey began in 1997 when she joined the Ministry as a Tourism Planner, later advancing to the role of Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Evaluation. Throughout her tenure, Ms. Griffith has been a driver of change. From fostering responsible tourism practices to spearheading social welfare initiatives, she consistently navigates evolving landscapes and trends to ensure Jamaica remains a premier destination on the international stage.

Hon. Tova Tené Hamilton is an accomplished attorney-at-law and public official, recognized for her commitment to national development. As a passionate nation builder, she is dedicated to advancing Jamaica’s global competitiveness, with a particular focus on the tourism sector.
A graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School, Minister Hamilton began her career in the Attorney General’s Chambers before excelling in private practice, representing leading corporate clients, international investors, and key figures in Jamaica’s creative and entertainment industries. Her legal expertise, coupled with her skill in stakeholder engagement, were instrumental in her later contribution to public administration and tourism development.
